The Birth of Nourish to Nurture: A Mom's Weekend Revelation

The idea for Nourish to Nurture didn’t come to me overnight—it grew from a weekend trip with my two best friends from college. I’d taken my toddler, Bahlo, back home to visit family and friends, while my husband stayed in Bali. One of my friends had just welcomed her second child, and it felt perfect to celebrate her birthday together, sharing a rare weekend where we could just relax, catch up, and support each other.

Before I arrived, I’d asked if there was anything I could bring—food, wine, snacks—and she’d insisted that all I needed to do was bring myself. She’d done the grocery shopping and had some “great ideas for food” planned. I didn’t think twice about it; we were moms, sure, but we’d done this before, right? Little did we know what we were in for.

Reality Check: Mom Life Meets Meal Planning

When I got there, our third friend called out sick, so it was just the two of us with our collective three kids, no husbands, and a weekend ahead of us. After that first meal, it was clear we were slightly delusional about our grand plans. We found ourselves whipping up simple toddler-friendly meals, keeping the boys fed and happy, while we managed to put together a quick spread of cheese and crackers for ourselves with a glass of wine. It was a beautiful mess—perfect in its own way, but not quite the gourmet experience we’d imagined!

I loved every second of it. But it made me realize that our lives had shifted so much that “dining” together now meant whatever we could pull together while keeping the kids from climbing on the furniture or wandering off. Elaborate meals and detailed recipes had become a luxury of the past.

The Spark of Inspiration

At one point during the weekend, my friend showed me what her cousin had sent her as a “second baby” gift—a Google Drive full of links to easy recipes. I loved the thoughtfulness behind it and the recognition that food is often the last thing moms have the energy to worry about. The simplicity of it was genius: a pre-made collection of meal ideas that took the thinking out of meal planning, ready to grab and use.

And that’s when it hit me: there has to be a way to make nutritious, thoughtful meals easy for moms, giving them more time to be present and take care of themselves. I thought about how Nourish to Nurture could go beyond just recipes and be something moms could rely on—a way to have nourishing food at their fingertips without needing to plan, shop, or stress.

That weekend, Nourish to Nurture was born. It’s grown from the desire to make life easier for busy moms, giving them one less thing to juggle and helping them find comfort and nourishment through the joy of good food. We deserve to feel cared for, to eat well, and to enjoy those fleeting moments without the constant demands of meal planning and prep.

Bringing Nourishment to Moms Everywhere

Nourish to Nurture is my answer to that weekend revelation. It’s about creating space, sharing nourishment, and offering moms a way to feed themselves and their families without the added stress. I believe food should be a source of joy and connection, not another item on the to-do list. Through these curated, ready-to-use essentials, I hope to bring a little extra care to each table, for every mom who deserves to be nurtured just as much as the ones she cares for.
